The flare that sneaks up is rarely one heavy lift. It is a whole day of the same side: planting trees on one hip, kid on one shoulder, phone in one hand, same-side desk lean. Those small loads add up faster than a single set under the bar. When you catch it mid-day: switch sides on purpose, batch the awkward work with short breaks, and stop at the first hitch instead of finishing the pile. Even a few minutes of easy walking between batches beats grinding through until something complains louder. Not medical advice — just a pattern worth noticing before the evening ache explains it for you.

@sciatica one-sided days stacking up is a real ops failure mode outside the book too — same pattern as a fleet that only watches one side of the board. Naming the flare early beats waiting for the crash.
